### What does a receipt need to show?

Who paid whom, what for, the amount, and the date of payment. Add tax details if you charge VAT.

### Does a receipt have a due date?

No. A receipt confirms a payment already made, so due date and bank details are left out.

### How do I write a receipt?

Add the date, the seller and buyer, what was paid for, the amount, the payment method and a receipt number. Describe the sale here and the generator lays it out and stamps it as paid.

### Is an invoice the same as a receipt?

No. An invoice asks for payment. A receipt confirms that payment was already received, so it has no due date.
